Dialysis Support
In The Horn Of Africa

Give Life. Restore Hope. Support Dialysis Patients in the Horn of Africa.

Across the Horn of Africa, every day, thousands of men, women, and children are living with kidney failure—but without access to life-saving dialysis treatment.  Knowing that without dialysis, survival is measured not in years, but in days.  Kidney failure is a condition that is survivable with dialysis, yet fatal without it.  For many, dialysis is not a choice; it is the difference between life and death.

When Treatment Is the Difference Between Life and Death

For many, this life-saving treatment exists only in theory. The cost is too high, the facilities too far, and support systems too limited. Tragically, most patients have no access to treatment due to extreme poverty, limited medical infrastructure, and ongoing humanitarian crises. For many families, the choice is simple: go bankrupt or simply go without care.

No One Should Choose Between Survival and Poverty

At the Amoud Foundation, we work so that poverty is never a death sentence. Your generosity can change that. We believe in dignity, compassion, and access to health for all.

Our beloved Prophet (pbuh) said:

“Whomsoever alleviates the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah swt will alleviate his hardships in this world and in the Hereafter.”

– Hadith 36, 40 Hadith an-Nawawi

A Silent Emergency

Chronic kidney disease is rising rapidly in the Horn of Africa, driven by untreated infections, diabetes, hypertension, lack of early medical care, and limited preventive care. Dialysis centers are few, treatment costs are overwhelming, and families are forced to make impossible choices.

An estimated 30–40 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa live with chronic kidney disease.
In low-income countries, less than 10% of patients who need dialysis are able to access it regularly.
Dialysis often costs more than an average family’s entire monthly income, per session.
Without consistent dialysis, patients face toxic buildup in the blood, organ failure, and death.

Behind every statistic is a human being: a parent trying to stay alive for their children, a young adult whose future is slipping away, or an elder who still has wisdom to share.

Without regular dialysis:

Toxins build up in the body
Organs begin to fail
Patients face certain death
Many patients are turned away simply because they cannot pay.

The Crisis at a Glance

Over 30 million people live with some form of chronic kidney disease in Sub-Saharan Africa.
In the Horn of Africa, access to dialysis is severely limited: fewer than 1 in 10 patients in need receive consistent treatment.
Each round of dialysis costs hundreds of dollars—far beyond what most families in the region can afford.
Without regular dialysis, patients with kidney failure face life-threatening complications within days or weeks.

These numbers represent human lives—mothers, fathers, children, and elders whose futures shouldn’t be determined by geography or income.

What We See on the Ground

We meet patients who sell their belongings, pull children out of school, or skip meals to afford a single dialysis session. Many are forced to stop treatment altogether. Not because it isn’t needed, but because it is unaffordable.

No one should have to choose between feeding their family and staying alive.

Our Mission

We are a non-profit relief and development organization committed to saving lives and restoring dignity for dialysis patients who have no other means of treatment. We work directly with local hospitals, clinics, and medical professionals to ensure that the most vulnerable receive life-sustaining care—regardless of their ability to pay.

Our focus is simple: no one should die because they are poor.
