Building Homes for the Displaced
Amoud Foundation is excited to announce our newest project in the Horn of Africa. Building homes for millions of people, many of whom are caught in a devastating cycle of displacement due to conflict, environmental challenges, and natural disasters. These displaced individuals, often referred to as Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), are among the most vulnerable populations in the world. As they face uncertain futures, the need for safe, stable, and dignified housing has never been more urgent.
Building homes for those living in IDPs is not just an act of charity
it is a crucial step toward restoring dignity, hope, and stability allowing them to focus on rebuilding their futures instead of worrying about survival.
The initial phase is to build 100 homes to replace the tents that these vulnerable people are living in currently and help to preserve human dignity of the beneficiaries
IDPs in the Horn of Africa face an array of challenges. Forced to flee their homes due to violence, famine, or climate-related disasters, they often find themselves in overcrowded camps with little access to basic necessities such as food, clean water, healthcare, and education. These individuals, many of whom are widows and orphans, live in constant fear and uncertainty.
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that helping those who are displaced and vulnerable is a way to earn the blessings of Allah
